Rooted in Jewish values and open to all, we bring the community together for meaningful service, fresh food, and warm connection, because doing good should feel good.

Right here in our own backyard, thousands of Marin families struggle to put fresh, healthy food on the table. Despite Marin’s beauty and prosperity, food insecurity remains a quiet crisis — with more than 30,000 of our neighbors, including children and seniors, unsure where their next meal will come from.
Behind every statistic is a real family. A parent choosing between groceries and rent. A child going to school hungry. A senior stretching one meal across two days.
At The Friendship Kitchen, we believe in the power of community, compassion, and dignity. Every two weeks, caring volunteers from across Marin step into our kitchen to cook wholesome, nourishing meals — prepared with love and delivered the very same day to local families, seniors, and individuals in need.
This is more than a meal. It’s a hand extended. A reminder that no one in Marin should face hunger alone.

We’re not your typical soup kitchen or food pantry. We’re a welcoming, community-driven initiative inspired by Jewish values of kindness and service, open to and powered by volunteers of every background, belief, and walk of life. Together, we roll up our sleeves and nourish our Marin neighbors with dignity and love.

Every nutritious meal is prepared from scratch using fresh, high-quality ingredients and delivered that very day to Marin families, seniors, and individuals experiencing food insecurity.

VOLUNTEERING WITH FLAVOR
Forget passive volunteering or sorting canned goods. Every kitchen session is hands-on, energetic, and joyful, where you’ll chop, sauté, stir, and plate meals alongside new friends.

We collaborate with food banks, shelters, schools, senior centers, and local community organizations across Marin to get fresh meals directly into the hands of people who need them most.

But this isn’t your average volunteer gig. With rotating themes, inspiring guest chefs, and fresh, seasonal ingredients, each session is a hands-on culinary adventure, no experience required. Along the way, you’ll meet incredible people, build genuine connections, and discover the joy of cooking for a cause.
